Mom brought us dinner and we ate together. Dave tried sausage (that didn't go well), potatoes and some fresh strawberries (which he liked and said tasted good). Then he had some applesauce and about 1/2 of a orange push up. He's really trying so hard. I told him I'm so happy and proud. I really do empathize with how difficult it is. Dave is joking more and giving opinions... which is good too. Mom and I moved the new piano (vs. the old piano) close to the bedroom and both Dave and I promised to start playing. I'll get a picture of him in the next few days.

Its duet time at the piano! I would milk that one as it is free lessons! That is where the phrase no pain, no gain comes from, it is not easy. My way was to develop a role like a movie actor that was of a normal healthy person & to form strategies to promote that illusion. The first lesson was to act like it didn't hurt to walk. Doctors are good at telling you where you are at but not where you are going. Tell yourself that you are on the mend and make it happen. What’s better that 3 times a day, 4! Dave has beaten the timeline odds already so it is time to go for the gold. You can do it Dave, remember you stood up as a survivor because you are one.
