Dave, not David
So looking over the "Overture" stuff I remember a story I probably told before, but it's a good one. When Dave and I started dating I called him David. It think it's such a beautiful name. I noticed others calling him Dave and that may have slipped out of my mouth occasionally...but he was David to me. My David. One day, we'd been married at least 10 years, Dave said to me "I really prefer the name Dave". Really? I said. Dave it is.

It's fun how memories get triggered, I didn’t even remember him writing the ST. Joseph piece until I saw the sheet music in the lobby at the service. It looks like it was done on computer but Dave did it by hand! Remember when it had us do “Any You and I” by Yes in Marching band, because of the odd time t6he one downbeat had to start between the yard lines. We went out and walked it several times & Dave had to show Bob Brown this. The drum section did a 3 count & then the bass drums figure and triangle. I wish we had a video of that! There is a marching band photo taken from the press box that has Dave standing perfectly crooked too!
