Puppies adjusting and getting back on track

I've been taking one dog each day to "dogie day care" during the week.  I know...it sounds kinda strange, but there are some real benefits.  The dogs get socialized with other dogs and Nikki is learning how to play better.  Nikki goes there M-W-F and Ruthie goes T-Th.  I probably should have done this a long time ago.  It's a step in the right direction.

This weekend I'm going to North Carolina for another WOCNCB committee meeting.  I went there back in April and it's time again.  I just have a little free time Friday night, the rest of the time if full of meetings.  It seems to be good timing for a little get away.

peace, love, groove

  1. Have a safe trip & soo glad the dogs are getting better. You have to show them whose boss, just like the memo at work!

  2. I'm sending them that message daily!!!! We had the first campfire by the back door with both dogs and me...no leases...tonight. They did good, but I felt the need to remind them this is a benefit of good behavior. PLG

  3. That's how you do it, also the training place might have like a stuffed rabbit to test them at staying and sit without anyone around. That is where the trainers start with that stern voice. I used that to stop the wolf dog that jumped the 4 lane to go after me, I kept saying stay & sit with a stern voice then it would get up and I would repeat it till the owner came. The other one is never show a dog your teeth or smile at them because they think you are snarling and about to attack, not good!
