Camp David Benefit Event
Diagnosis
Dave was given the diagnosis with Stage 4 lung cancer in July, 2009 which is inoperable. We are going to Oncology Care in St Joseph Michigan for chemo. The standard chemo treatment for lung cancer is Taxol and Carboplatin. After a lung biopsy by Bronchoscopy confirmed the diagnosis, Dave decided to enter a lung cancer study which would give him a 50/50 chance of getting a new drug with the others and is available here in St Joe [other closest sites include Petoskey, Detroit, Chicago and Indy]. It is an open label study (which means we get to know) and Dave got the drug. He started 3 week cycles on August 6, 2009.
